William R. Dixon

 William R. (Bill) Dixon has been in the oil and gas business for over 35 years; as an exploration geologist, a company manager, a management consultant and an independent oil and gas operator.  In the U.S., he has conducted exploration activities in the Gulf Coast, West Texas, Mid-Continent, Rocky Mountains, California and Alaska.  Overseas, he has been involved in exploration activities in Europe, the North Sea, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and various areas in S.E. Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, China, Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Mr. Dixon received his B.A. degree in Geology from Lehigh University in 1956 and his M.A. degree from the University of Texas in 1958. 

 Mr. Dixon is currently President of DXN Associates, a consulting firm that advises senior management of companies involved in U.S. and international upstream activities.  DXN specializes on projects involving exploration and production property evaluations and business development initiatives.  Mr. Dixon is also President of his private firm, DXN Interests, L.L.C., which has active producing assets in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Texas and holds active leases and/or royalties and mineral interests in South and West Texas and Alaska.

 Mr. Dixon is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Dallas Geological Society (DGS), the Houston Geological Society, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the West Texas Geological Society (WTGS) the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), the Society of Independent Earth Scientists (SIPES) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).

 Active in industry affairs, he has been chairman of the International Pavilion of the AAPG and co-chairman of the International Corporate Forum of the AAPG convention for three years and as co-chair for technical sessions.  He is past director of both the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) and the Independent Association of Mountain States (IPAMS) where he also served as Executive Vice-President.  He is former chairman of the North American Prospect Exposition (NAPE) International Committee and has served on the IPAA International Steering Committee.
